Mountain Laurel Integrated Health
Behavioral Health Service
Overview
The beginnings of Mountain Laurel Integrated Healthcare (formerly Logan Mingo Area Mental Health, Inc.) go back to separate agencies serving Logan County and Mingo County. They merged on December 15, 1970. Since then, Mountain Laurel Integrated Healthcare has grown from a staff of one secretary, who merely provided information and referrals to other agencies and hospitals, to its current staff of more than 100 well-trained professionals providing a wide array of mental health services for children and adults.
For more than 50 years, Mountain Laurel Integrated Health has continually provided behavioral health services and linkage to referral sources to address health disparities for the residents of southern West Virginia. In addition to behavioral health services, Logan Mingo Area Mental Health received Federally Qualified Health Center, Look-Alike designation in February 2020, and began doing business as Mountain Laurel Integrated Healthcare, just as the pandemic began to ravage the nation. Mountain Laurel Integrated Healthcare is currently employing over 100 members of the local community.
